John Hannah (Dean of Chichester)

The Very RevJohn Julius Hannah, was an eminent Anglican priest[1] in the last third of the 19th century and the first third of the 20th.
Born into an ecclesiastical family[2] in 1843 and educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond and Balliol College, Oxford[3], he was ordained after a period of study at Ripon College Cuddesdon in 1867[4]. He was a Curate at Al Saints, Brill[5], then Vicar of Brighton[6]. In 1902 he became Dean of Chichester[7], a post he held[8] for 27 years[9]. He died on 1 June 1931[10].
